Students Accepted to Competitive NYU Arts Program:
Congratulations to Saidkamol Javadov and XiaoTing Zhao, who were both accepted to NYU's Future Artist programs for high school students. NYU offers these art programs at no cost for New York City high school students. Students attend classes on the NYU campus, conducted by NYU faculty and professionals in their respective fields.
Saidkamol was accepted to the Future Filmmakers program, and XiaoTing was accepted to Future Dancers & Dancemakers. Hundreds of NYC students applied, but only 15 students were accepted into each Future Artist program.
Saidkamol Javodov chosen as finalist in Sony Video Contest: Emma Lazarus student, Saidkamol Javodov, was chosen as a finalist in Sony's Video Contest for high school students. To enter, students had to produce a scary movie at Halloween time. "Punishment," which Saidkamol filmed at Emma Lazarus, stars Gulish Javadova, Fanta Sacko, Jose Veloz, and Ms. Scragg.
